Here's another Emma & Ryan tradition - the annual Festival of Books at UCLA.
As much as it pains my cardinal-and-gold-bleeding heart to voluntarily go to UCLA, for the past 6 years, Emma and I have gone to the LA Times books festival and discovered some great authors and even better deals.
The two-day festival is spread across the white-tent filled campus with a variety of music acts. This year we were passing by the Etc. Stage as Peter, Paul, and Mary's Peter Yarrow (creepily) sang "Puff the Magic Dragon."
Past year speakers included Evan Handler from "Sex and the City," the year before it was Lou Reed from the Velvet Underground, and this year it was Kristin Chenoweth from Broadway's "Wicked" and ABC's "Pushing Daisies."
This year, we were joined by Em's sister, Sara for a nice, sunny, and very windy afternoon at a very nice festival hosted by a very sub-par school.
