Five years ago, Old Town offered a nice selection of shopping, a tasty Ghiradelli location, and one of my favorite independent music stores - Penny Lane.
But five years later, Old Town now offers a nice selection of shopping, a high-end Guess location, a Tiffany's corner lot, and a Potterybarn and Crate & Barrel a block from one another. Still a great place to go - just much more expensive than it used to be - and with no independent music store.
For the afternoon, we strolled Colorado Boulevard (you may recognize it as the star of the Rose Parade) and passed by the lot formerly held by one of our favorite restaurants - Naya - which shut down about 6 weeks after we ate there.
This time we were thrilled to stumble across 1810 - a great Argentinian eatery with impressive service, spot-on chimichurri, and hopes for its continued success. Quite frankly ...any sandwich with chimichurri on it, we're in favor of.
Em found some great deals at H&M as well as her all-time favorite, Forever 21 and a few hours later, we were heading home.
It's really nice to spend some time with the spouse. You'd think living with the person would make it easier to spend some time with one another, but strange enough... it's just about as difficult as it was before our wedding.
In any case, it was great to spend some time with the wife.
